We will not be able to relate to the Moon while we think of it as a dead lump orbiting Earth, as a chunk of sterile real estate. The physical Moon is the scribing point that hews out the true 9th sphere, which is the totality of the Moon's movements around Earth. The Moon inscribes a sphere around us perpetually, with its orbits: we live, literally, within the Moon. The Earth is in the Moon. (...) Do not conceive of the Lunar realm as being somehow separate from the world of nature: we live within it always. Its tides, rhythms, and forces are all about us, day and night, and within us. Tides of the ocean, of water, of blood. Tides of emotion, of sexuality, of dreams, and longing. We live within these, and they are far more than some shadowy segment of our psyche. Indeed the frantic pace of human modernist culture is a collective acceleration, as is the population growth. These derive from lunar forces, drawing up a flood tide of humanity.
