Мира Киршенбаум - семейный терапевт с мировым именем, соучредитель и клинический директор института Честнат Хилл, автор более чем десятка книг об отношениях, браке и семье.

Mira Kirshenbaum is the Co-Founder and Clinical Director of the Chestnut Hill Institute, a center for research, couples, family and individual psychotherapy, training, supervision and outreach. She is also the author, co-author, and/or researcher with Charles Foster of many articles, and twelve books including The Weekend Marriage, Feel Better Fast, and The Emotional Energy Factor. Several of her books were honored twice as finalists for the National Books for a Better Life Award.

Mira has made numerous media appearances…

including three appearances on The Today Show, the CBS Early Show, and many other TV news and talk shows, as well as being featured expert on a John Stossel 20/20 ABC News prime time special.

Mira Kirshenbaum is a consultant on organizational morale and interpersonal dynamics for businesses and organizations. She has received advanced clinical training from Salvador Minuchin, Carl Whitaker, Jay Haley, Virginia Satir and others.

After completing her undergraduate study at The State University of New York at Stony Brook, she did her postgraduate training at the Boston Family Institute, followed by graduate study at the University of London and The City University of New York. Mira has since led workshops and conducted training for medical professionals at Harvard Medical School.

She is a recipient of the Parent's Choice Award for authoring best parenting book for 1991 and a Board Member of One Generation After: International Network of Children of Holocaust Survivors. Mira Kirshenbaum is releasing two books in 2006: Is He Mr. Right? Everything You Need to Know Before You Commit (Harmony/Random House, May 2006) and The Weekend Marriage: Everything Harried Marrieds Need to Know About Love and Romance (Random House, April 2006).

Kirshenbaum was born in Uzbekistan in 1945. Her Jewish parents survived because her mother, who spoke good Russian and Polish, was able to pass as a gentile. The family spent the first four years of her life in a displaced persons' camp in Germany before her parents separated, her father going with her older sister to live in Israel, Kirshenbaum coming with her mother and stepbrother to the US. The absence of a father during her early childhood weighed heavily. "My mother was a single mother and I saw all the children had a father and I told my mother from morning to night, I want a papa, I want a papa. And she got one. I chose him for her."
