Mobile IP supports the mobility for communication. When users roam from home network to foreign networks, mobile IPv6 take care of the continuity of communication during handover process. But when mobile communication devices that have different communication equipments, like MRT, a train, a bus or a plane, then it is not suitable to use for mobile communication. Therefore Internet Engineering Task Force established the NEMO, which is an extension of Mobile IPv6, to support the mobility of entire network. In this book it is introduced how the MANET problem space can benefit from the introduction of NEMO concepts.

Every year many earthquakes of varying intensity takes place in the world. The severe ones of these lead to the destruction of property and loss of many lives. In such natural disasters, quick location of the trapped victim under the earthquake rubbles becomes very difficult as it takes several Hours to several days. Post Earthquake Rescue system (PEQRS) can be used to identify any living being buried under the earthquake rubble or hidden behind various barriers. It uses transmission of microwave frequency (L band) which can penetrate any debris also including the walls. These transmitted waves reflects back to the system through the stationary background and gives the presence of living being by illuminating the modulated wave by the subject's breathing body movements. Software based real time data acquisition system has also been developed and included to make available a compact arrangement for the Post Earthquake Rescue system, which was otherwise a Digital CRO, required carrying additional equipment. This system can be carried to any inconvenient location because of its compact and mobile nature and digital detection technique which are very less prone to errors.

Under present day condition, it becomes very essential to protect the environment from further degradation, develop appropriate technologies for use in recycling various organic wastes and to harness energy thus minimizing environmental stress. Vermitechnology is a promising technique that has shown its potential in certain challenging areas like augmentation of food production, waste recycling, management of solid wastes, etc. The active component involved in the biodegradation and conversion processes during composting is the resident microbial community, among which fungi play a very important role. Large-scale composting has been shown to be an important element in sustainable waste management and could have a vital role to play in meeting the obligations of the Landfill Directive. However, very few people know much about the widespread science and practice of using earthworms to compost waste on a large-scale.
