Marriage is a well careful crafted union in which two people agree and solemnly swear before a congregation with God as the key witness, to love, to cherish and to hold each other in a happy permanent union that only death does them part from each other. Marriage is the foundation of Family life, Human multiplication and Settlement on Earth. Mere physical union cannot guarantee emotional harmony. There has to be a union of hearts and intentions. More often than not, making sacrifices for the other person is the price needed to be paid to make marriage a success. Both persons interested in each other must examine prospective mates'' goals, beliefs and attitude. Through this permanent union – marriage – family become joined to each other, to share, to assist each other and become related hence forth here in after. In this union, off springs are born who spread out their wings in marriage and birth into union that make society cohesive, solid and united through blood and marriage, just as God himself had envisioned when he brought the woman to her husband, blessed them and said: “Have many children so that your descendants will live all over the earth and bring it under control ……..”

Truthfulness means more than merely telling the truth. It is a way of life. Truth defines who we are. We make the truth known to others not only by what we say but also by what we do. If we are to impart truth to others, we must be truthful in all ways. Our reputations for truthfulness and honesty will have powerful impact on how people respond to what we teach. They too would like to know, “what is responsible for this person’s moral strength?”Filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit Jesus said in prayer, “Father, I publicly praise you, Lord of Heaven and Earth. I thank you because you have shown to the uneducated what you have hidden from the wise and the educated. Oh yes father, this was how you wanted it to happen” What information does this verse in Luke 10 verse 21 want to let us know about our lives today?

Everywhere there is cheating. Young children are into drugs and prostitution; athletes are into steroids; piracy of music and movies.People now say: “private life is private life. We don’t want other people interfering”Add up all the various forms of ethical and legal misconduct and You have a moral crisis and decay that needs much more than verbal talk.With the widespread lack of trust in the integrity of those whom people look up to for leadership, the guilt at the sight of the dying from the pangs of hunger…..the starvation and the unwillingness of communities to adopt new living techniques; makes a question arise: what has led to these radical changes from the stable past to a complete moral breakdown we witness today and what remedial measures will rectify the situation?Apart from consolation and acceptance, what more is required?

“IN THE NAME OF LOVE” has eight short stories all aimed at educating the young and improving their knowledge of the English language. The stories are by one author. They are not only entertaining but they also carry deep moral lessons for the young and even the old. Most of these stories remind the author of his own past when grandmothers - Julia and Dorcas- used to narrate them to the grandchildren late into the evening. And since it was many, many years ago, the author has to fill in many of the gaps in between to create a story that entertains. The stories are good and interesting to read. Moral lessons found in these stories include: Never despise people just because they are poor, one day they might be of great help; don''t despise a small job but try to make it big since hard work pays. The stories are refreshing and very entertaining and can encourage reading for leisure among the youth in upper primary school level.
