Игнатия, как о его собственной духовной жизни, так и о его воспитательной и наставнической деятельности, во-вторых, картину последующего развития иезуитской духовности, начавшегося с этого опыта и длящегося уже четыре столетия.

Vigilance, a step towards building peace is a work of years of writing papers at college as well as observational experience of African societies with special close interest to the situation obtained in Zimbabwe two decades after that country's independence from colonial rule. I have also expressed personal concern on the recent world challenge, that is, terrorism following the 11 September 2001 bombing of the twin towers in the United States of America and the response that issued out of this act from the United States of America and other nations opposed to terrorism. I have also discussed issues to do with human rights from an African perspective. Generally, all the papers in this book were written from two perspectives, that is, philosophical and theological perspectives as the last paper on Sacraments and Liberation Theology stand to witness. All this different collection of papers and use of at least two perspectives save to show that vigilance is a step towards building peace in society.

The Jesuit philosopher-theologian Bernard Lonergan (1904-84) was considered by many intellectuals to be "one of the finest philosophic thinkers of the 20th century”(Time Magazine, April 1970). His complex thought contains much of vital importance to understanding contemporary global issues from economics to education and, of course, philosophy and religion. Theology mediates between religion and culture. Theology of religions is the discipline that thematizes the relationship of Christianity to other religions. Three decades of effort by specialists have generated a theological ''Babel''. The confusion and lack of a cumulative result have led to alternative paths to the discipline: a comparative theology of religious engagement in the US, and an intercultural theology in Europe. Still, the impasse remains. Lonergan offers dynamic structures,heuristic tools, and a collaborative framework for specialists to rise to a higher viewpoint and move toward a comprehensive understanding of the fact and significance of religious diversity. The task and nature of the discipline can be reconceptualized with his critical contribution.

Aquinas on Virtue: A Causal Reading is an original interpretation of one of the most compelling accounts of virtue in the Western tradition, that of the great theologian and philosopher Thomas Aquinas (1224–1274). Taking as its starting point Aquinas's neglected definition of virtue in terms of its «causes,» this book offers a systematic analysis of Aquinas on the nature, genesis, and role of virtue in human life.Drawing on connections and contrasts between Aquinas and contemporary treatments of virtue, Austin argues that Aquinas’s causal virtue theory retains its normative power today. As well as providing a synoptic account of Aquinas on virtue, the book includes an extended treatment of the cardinal virtue of temperance, an argument for the superiority of Aquinas's concept of «habit» over modern psychological accounts, and a rethinking of the relation between grace and virtue.
