It's the First World War and Biggles is just 17. The planes are primitive; combat tactics are non-existent; the only form of communication for pilots and their gunners is by hand signals. They are reliant on the skill of their fellow crew, their wit and, above all else, bravery.

In a desperate plan to rescue his brother, missing in action and presumed dead, sixteen year-old Peter Fortymore runs away from school to join the air force. Amongst the chaos of the First World War, Peter and his friend manage to enlist and soon find themselves in 266 Squadron under the command of Biggles. Will Biggles rumble the boys' wild plans before they take flight? And if he does, will he come to their aid?

Algy turned a trifle pale and shook his head. 'For God's sake be careful,' he whispered tersely. 'They'll shoot you like a dog if they spot what you're doing.'

While on leave Biggles is mistaken for someone else. He thinks little of it at the time, but when headquarters find out they ask him to take the place of his double and work for the Germans as a spy, while secretly reporting back to the British. It's a difficult task and there's a very high price to pay if he's spotted - his life.

Biggles is back!

Caught up in the German invasion of Norway in the early days of the Second World War, Biggles has to use all his cunning to stay one step ahead of the enemy. With his old opponent Von Stalheim hot on his trail, it's going to take a daring act to avoid the horror of the Nazi firing squad.

Deep in the jungle heartland of Japanese occupied Malaya, Biggles and his team operate a secret commando base. It's deadly, dangerous work, risking enemy capture and Biggles is fighting to bring all his men out alive.

With a dangerous mission ahead and the threat of being shot down in the waterless wasteland of the African plains, Biggles is in the desert, defending the vital air-route from the West coast of Africa to the Middle East. When a number of planes fail to arrive at their destinations, Biggles is there to find out why - and stop it happening again.

Biggles is missing in action. Last seen lying shot and wounded, surrounded by the enemy, his chances are looking bleak. But Algy, Ginger and Bertie will not give up until they find him, dead or alive, and if this means going behind enemy lines, then that's what they will do.

BIGGLES THE CAMELS ARE COMING

Fighting high above the trenches of First World War France Biggles knows he needs more than just flying skills to survive against the Sopwith Camel – a demon to fly, but incredibly fast in a dogfight, it commands fierce loyalty from its pilot. Will Biggles’ luck and initiative be enough to keep him alive?

A dull murmur, like distant thunder, reached their ears and brought Biggles to his feet with a rush. 'What is it?' he gasped.-At the first sound Dickpa had leapt for the flashlight. 'Quick,' he snapped, as the floor of the cave sagged sickeningly. 'Get out - it's an earthquake! Ah - stop!' he screamed. A visit to Biggles' uncle, Dickpa, lands Biggles, Algy and mechanic Smyth in a dangerous adventure looking for an ancient Inca treasure hoard.

We shall have to wait until they come out,' breathed Biggles. 'Jump out when I do and be ready to shoot like lightning. If they drop their rifles and put their hands up, all right, but any move by one of the to raise his rifle, let him have it. It's the only way. Here they come.'A sixteen-year-old boy learns that his beloved elder brother has gone missing from his squadron and decides to rescue him. With his friend, he runs away from school and they sign up in the RFC, lying about their age. They meet up with Biggles at 266 Squadron and join his flight - but will Biggles find them out?

It is my opinion that Biggles is dead,' asserted the Air Commodore.
'I had already sensed that, Sir, but I don't believe it,' retorted Algy.

When Biggles undertakes a lone mission to rescue an Italian princess from Mussolini's Italy he doesn't know he's walking into a trap. Against all the odds he gets the princess to the aircraft ready to fly them back to safety, but he never reaches the plane. He's last seen wounded and surrounded by the enemy, but Algy, Ginger and Bertie refuse to accept that he's dead until they see the evidence themselves.

Now Listen, Bigglesworth; I'll tell you what I'm prepared to do, and you can please yourself what you do about it. Run this gang of crooks to earth, or point out to me the man that is at the head of it - or the chief operator in this country - and I'll make you a present of a cheque for ten thousand pounds.'Colonel Raymond from Intelligence persuades Biggles, Algy and Ginger to take on the challenge of transporting gold bullion and diamonds to France. Every other firm which has taken the job has failed and the gold has been stolen, the planes crashed or disappeared and the pilots have lost their lives. Biggles comes up with daring scheme after daring scheme, but then Algy is captured and held to ransom and Biggles finds that he's up against his old enemy - Von Stalhein

Indeed, as he fought to keep the flying-boat under control, it seemed certain that during the next minute or two the others must join him. Ashen, he looked at Algy. 'Jump when she hits!' he cried, in a shrill, strangled voice, and dived deliberately at the rocks. Biggles, Algy and Ginger help a young lad evade a violent thief and find themselves plunged into a dangerous treasure hunt searching for a long-lost pirate hoard of gold in the Caribbean.
