О премии

Премия «Барри» (Barry Award) – литературная награда главного в детективном жанре американского журнала «Deadly Pleasures».

Для поощрения авторов лучших детективных произведений в 1997 году издательством журнала “Deadly Pleasures» принято решение об учреждении премии. Назвать ее решили в честь безвременно скончавшегося накануне известного американского критика и фаната детектива Барри Гарднера (Barry W. Gardner, 1939–1996), для сохранения памяти о нем.

Первое вручение премии состоялось в 1997 году.

В выборе лауреатов премии принимают участие подписчики журнала “Deadly Pleasures» и читатели детективов, голосуя на сайте в Интернете.
