Премия журнала «BookBrowse» - награда за лучшие книги года, выбранные читателями американского онлайн-журнала.

Награду с 2005 года присуждает американский онлайн-журнал «BookBrowse», который предоставляет обзоры книг, интервью с авторами, анонсы книг и руководства по чтению. Журнал независим от издателей и не продает книги, которые он рецензирует.



BookBrowse ищет и рекомендует лучшее из современной художественной и научной литературы — книги, которые не только увлекают и развлекают, но и углубляют наше понимание самих себя и окружающего мира.

Лауреатов премии путём голосования выбирают только подписчики журнала, что ограничивает возможности для "вброса голосов". Чтобы проголосовать за книгу подписчики оценивают каждую прочитанную ими книгу, попавшую в шорт-лист, и победителями становятся книги с самым высоким общим рейтингом.

Каждый год администрация журнала составляет список из 20 лучших книг. К участию в конкурсе допускаются книги, опубликованные в период с ноября предыдущего года по октябрь текущего года. Первоначальный шорт-лист отбирается профессиональными рецензентами BookBrowse, которые рекомендуют книги, которые, по их мнению, наиболее запомнились за год.

Участвующие в голосовании читатели оценивают только те книги, которые прочитали.

Каждая из книг, вошедших в шорт-лист, оценивается по пятибалльной шкале. Победителями становятся книги с наибольшим соотношением баллов к голосам в конкретной категории, при условии, что конкретное название наберет минимальное количество голосов для отбора.
Ежегодно в голосовании участвует от 9000 до 10 000 человек.

Премия присуждается в четырёх номинациях.

Перед тем, как судейский комитет проголосует за присуждение премии, все судьи читают все книги, вошедшие в шорт-лист, чтобы принять обоснованное решение о том, какая из них заслуживает победы.
