О премии

Премия писателей - международная литературная награда, присуждаемая за литературное мастерство. Это единственная англоязычная премия, номинируемая и оцениваемая исключительно другими писателями. Она открыта для писателей из любой страны мира и для всех литературных произведений, независимо от формы, опубликованных на английском языке в Великобритании.

Премия появилась в 2024 году взамен ранее существовавшей премии «Фолио», которая прекратила своё существование в ноябре 2023 года из-за отсутствия нового спонсора.

У премии три номинации, "чтобы отразить меняющийся ландшафт литературных премий, привлечь больше внимания к авторам и предложить читателям и розничным продавцам более четкий и широкий спектр рекомендаций":
- Художественная литература;
- Документальная литература;
- Поэзия.

В каждой номинации формируется свой шорт-лист и выбирается победитель. Среди трёх победителей выбирается книга года, автор которой и получает главный приз.

Первый раз Премия писателей была вручена без судей: вместо этого шорт-листы и победителей определяли более 350 членов Folio Academy.

Ежегодный фонд премии составляет 36 000 фунтов стерлингов. Он формируется за сёт частных пожертвований.
По 2 000 фунтов стерлингов получаю победители номинаций и главный приз 30 000 фунтов стерлингов вручается автору лучшей книги года.
