Beginning to Write

"Beginning to Write" contains over 100 writing activities suitable for elementary and intermediate learners. The book shows that it is possible to take the teaching of writing seriously at an early stage in language learning. More conventionally, it also recognises the role that writing plays as a support for language learning.
The Introduction discusses the differences between speaking and writing, the purpose of writing and its real-world uses. It gives a clear account of process writing and considers approaches to the teaching of writing. There is also a section which provides advice on how to use the activities in the book.
