Intermediate Matters: Student's Book

"Pre-lntermediate Matters", "Intermediate Matters" and "Upper Intermediate Matters" form a fully integrated three-part course for learners of English.
"Intermediate Matters" is aimed specifically at intermediate level students. The course provides approximately 90-120 hours of classroom material. Each of the twenty units has a clear but flexible structure. Topics are lively and rich in human interest. A wide range of accessible authentic listening and reading material form the basis for extensive skills development.
Grammar and functions are presented and practised in an imaginative and personalised way. A "Language reference" page at the end of each unit provides a concise summary of the main points covered. A new section of communicative activities appears every five units. These exercises are designed to activate the language points presented in the preceding units.
Systematic work on vocabulary, writing and pronunciation all feature prominently throughout the course. Particular emphasis is also placed on spoken and written fluency.
Learners are encouraged to develop efficient learning strategies in order to become confident, independent users of English.
