This is the third and the last book of my lovely trilogy. I love it starting with title. Davies is a genius of describing all kinds of frailties. The plot of the book is built on the will of late Mrs. Bridgetower. She was a terrible woman as she lived and couldn't give release to her son Solly and his wife even after death. She didn't leave them nothing until they have a son. Instead of it Solly might choose person gets those money. Monica Gall, girl from plain family, became that person. There're all problems started. It seems like the most of people's frailties are because of money. Solly and Veronica were disappointed and angry that they had nothing. Trustees, who might choose the beneficiary, were jealous. And even Monica's family changed attitude to her after this victory. That didn't matter to them that money could be spent only for education in music, Monica had nothing for herself. They exploited her. And she showed a lot of frailties herself. The first is her slavery for Giles. She even robbed The Trust for him and didn't help people who really needed money. That guy wasn't worthy of it. But he shouldn't die from her hand nonetheless. The only person I can love without complain is Cobbler. He has his own frailties but those aren't so terrific.
I can't help saying that Davies as usual tells about art so pleasant. Here the main theme is music. Seems like classical and modern music are adorable by him almost equally.
