РецензияSherry arrives in the small Texas town of Papper to work as a nurse, and on her very first day, she finds herself not only in the heart of the action but also, before she knows it, being pressured into marriage. Although she and Cody are immediately attracted to each other, they will only find common ground in the final pages of the book.
I'm not sure what amused me more in this book—the twelve-year-old Heather, who knows everything about relationships from romance novels, or the bravado of her father, Cody Baylman, a widower who knows absolutely nothing about any of it. And of course, the funny situations he finds himself in, trying to show his big feelings, with the naivety with which he viewed the consequences.
This romantic comedy-drama is perfect for a single autumn evening, although the book itself still has that heat.
This man has loved before, but he's so naïve and inexperienced in matters of love that his proposal seems more like a job contract. A marriage as a deal is hardly what the lovestruck Sherry expects—her heart's conqueror should be more than just a prince on a white horse; at the very least, not a possessive man. But hardened Cody can't open his heart, and besides, what does he know about romance? He's a farmer cowboy, a serious man who's forgotten how to do foolish things for love. But the whole town is ready to help him. So, he listens to everyone's advice, much to the amusement of the local ladies, as there's no escaping them in a small town.
Some books require a bit of indulgence, like this simple, unpretentious story without any pretension.
