It’s only been a couple days since graduation, Buffy’s lost Angel, and now she’s losing two of her best friends. Cordelia is moving to L.A. to become an actress and Xander’s getting ready to depart for parts unknown. The whole Scooby gang has to deal with all this emotional junk. Meanwhile, signs of Faith stir among the charred rubble of what used to be Sunnydale High. It seems that the ghost of one of Buffy’s recently deceased enemies has a bone to pick with her. How can Buffy kill something that’s already dead?

It’s the summer after high school graduation, and somehow Faith’s back in Buffy’s life. That’s not all that’s going wrong, though. Vamps are taking Buffy by surprise and it’s nearly cost Giles his life. With her Watcher out of the action, her reflexes out of whack, and a ghost terrorizing Sunnydale, Buffy is in for a hell of a summer vacation.

The recently deceased former Mayor of Sunnydale has got more than a few bones to pick with Buffy Summers. And it looks as if he’ll have to go through several skeletons (as well as a few corpses in various states of decay) before he’s satisfied. Now, on top of dealing with her nightmares about a certain raven-haired, trash-talking former Slayer, she’s got a body-snatching, blood-sucking poltergeist stalking her every moment she’s awake. But there’s something strange going on beneath the University campus in Sunnydale, and the maleficent mayor is not going to like what he finds.

TV scribe Jane Espenson’s epic tale concludes as the Mayor’s ghost finally takes possession of a body powerful enough to destroy Buffy — one he found in the basement of the Initiative headquarters. As Xander heads out of town and Willow fantasizes about college life, Buffy’s left to face the thing without knowing whose hand guides it, armed only with an enigmatic message from Faith: “You’re already dead.”

Only one person can save Sunnydale from Russian vampire mobsters, surprisingly that is Jonathan Levinson. Jonathan gets help from the Slayer and her pals. It seems Jonathan is quite the legend, and appears to be admired by the whole of Sunnydale.
