Nothing Lasts Forever

Retired NYPD Detective Joe Leland is visiting the 40-story Klaxon Oil Corporation's high-rise office headquarters in Los Angeles on Christmas Eve, where his daughter Stephanie Leland Gennaro works. While he is waiting for his daughter's Christmas party to end, a Cold War era German terrorist gang led by the brutal Anton "Little Tony" Gruber, a terrorist Joe had met in World War II when he was a fighter pilot. Anton and his gang take over the entire skyscraper, with the intention of exposing the Klaxon corporation's corrupt deal with Chile's Junta by helping the regime in exchange for money to the world by stealing private documents from the building and and make them public, then they plan to dump $600,000 in cash, which was part of the deal out the windows. Leland not only believes their claims, but also that his daughter was involved, however because they could wind up killing her, a barefoot Leland slips away and manages to remain unundetected in the gigantic office complex and armed with only his police-issue Browning Hi-Power pistol, fights off the terrorists one by one to save the 74 hostages, including his daughter and grandchildren, aided outside only by LAPD Sergeant Al Powell.
