This is Henry David Thoreaus thoughtful account of his wanderings along the stretch of Massachusetts coastline known as Cape Cod. Along the way, he chronicles the experiences of fishermen, lighthouse keepers, and ship captains as they survive the threats of the wild sea and of encroaching modernity.
